Kasum Modak Method: Ayurvedic Yoga Massage with Kyara
Thursday 8am – 8pm
The Kusum Modak Method, also known as Ayurvedic Yoga Massage, is a dynamic therapeutic bodywork that combines deep tissue massage, assisted yoga stretches, and breath awareness.
Developed by Indian therapist Kusum Modak, the method was influenced by her studies with yoga master B. K. S. Iyengar and integrates elements of yoga therapy, Ayurveda, and Western massage techniques.
Performed on a comfortable floor mat using oil, the treatment works deeply through muscles, fascia, and joints, using the therapist’s hands and feet to apply slow, precise pressure and guided stretches. This helps release long-held tension, improve posture and mobility, and restore natural body alignment.
Each session is tailored to your body’s needs, supporting both physical recovery and deep nervous system relaxation.
Benefits:
- Relieves muscular tension and chronic pain
- Improves posture, flexibility, and mobility
- Supports nervous system regulation
- Encourages deeper body awareness and relaxation
Ideal for:
- Persistent muscular tension or stiffness
- Postural imbalance
- Stress and physical fatigue
- Limited mobility or movement restrictions
A deeply restorative treatment designed to help the body move with greater ease, strength, and balance.
About Kyara
Kyara Mensie has 13 years of experience as a massage therapist, her work integrates therapeutic bodywork, somatic awareness, and holistic healing.
She is a trauma-informed somatic practitioner, working with Compassionate Inquiry, an approach developed by Gabor Maté, which supports a deeper understanding of the relationship between the body, mind, emotions, and the nervous system.
Her approach is also informed by training in holistic and energy healing with Brazilian Shaman Alba Maria, whose work emphasises the wisdom of nature and the balance of the four elements — earth, water, fire, and air. This perspective brings an intuitive, rooted, and respectful quality to the way Kyara works with the body.
Kyara offers a calm, attentive, safe, compassionate space where each session supports the body in releasing tension, restoring balance, and reconnecting with its natural vitality.
This work is particularly suited to those seeking thoughtful, high-quality therapeutic care and a deeper connection with their body.

Shiatsu Massage with Susie Heales
Tuesday 12.30pm – 4.30pm
Susie qualified with the British School of Shiatsu Do in 2007 and has been working as a shiatsu practitioner ever since.
Susie has always been interested in health; before finding shiatsu Susie qualified with YMCAFit as a personal trainer, working in the gym industry and later, for The Healthy Living Centre, a Big Lottery Fund project housed within the NHS. Whilst working in the gym she was introduced to Shiatsu and also started practicing Tai Chi, which made her realise that diet and exercise were not the whole picture for health.
Shiatsu is an acupressure therapy, built upon the same foundations as acupuncture. As a hands-on therapy, the purpose of shiatsu is to rebalance energy in the body, dispersing stagnated energy and bringing energy to areas that are depleted. A typical treatment will involve working along the energy channels (meridians) and gently mobilising and stretching the joints as well as other techniques tailored to the individual needs of the client.
Susie will be at Lotus on Tuesday 12.30pm – 4.30pm
